WEEE recycling Oxford

What is WEEE?

21 March 2019

In 2002, the European Commission introduced the WEEE Directive. The directive was intended to address the environmental impact of how we dispose of unwanted electrical and electronic equipment. The directive includes ten broad categories of WEEE, ranging from large and small household appliances to lighting, medical and consumer equipment.

The average UK citizen will create 3.3 tonnes of WEEE in their lifetime. It’s therefore vitally important for both businesses and households to cut down on this waste and recycle electrical and electronic waste responsibly and safely.

Why choose W&S for WEEE Recycling?

At W&S, our specialists have the experience and knowledge to advise you on all kinds of WEEE questions. Our experts can ensure that landfill waste is kept to a minimum, and our service is compliant with all EA paperwork.

For domestic WEEE, we offer free collection, whilst for businesses we can offer collection at a competitive price. We send WEEE to approved processors such as Sweeep Kuusakoski, EMR, AO Recycling, Environcom and Simms for recycling, and we can organise delivery of dumpy bags for collection of small domestic appliances.

We have rolled out our services across the UK mainland, so we can be sure to help you with your WEEE requirements. WEEE constitutes at least 4% of all waste, but with our expert services, we can alleviate WEEE waste being sent to landfill.

We are an experienced team of recycling specialists based in Dorset and Oxfordshire. For more information about our recycling services, or for further advice on how we can help with waste disposal and rubbish collections for your home or business, contact our team on 01202 675564.
